The Mayor of Gandesa, Carles Luz, has formally requested the Generalitat to maintain the reinforced bus line connecting the capital of Terra Alta with Barcelona on a permanent basis.

The service was initially launched as an emergency measure to counter frequent delays in the Rodalies train network. However, local authorities argue that the high passenger numbers prove a structural need for better public transport in the region.

"It has become clear that when there is a useful transport offer adapted to the reality of the region, citizens use it."

The Gandesa City Council has sent a formal letter to the Secretary of Mobility, warning that removing the service would be a step backward for a region that has historically suffered from limited mobility options.
