The President of the Lleida Provincial Council, Joan Talarn, visited the town halls of Bellpuig and Maldà this Thursday to present the new €15 million funding line aimed at improving water networks, sports facilities, and asbestos removal.

Joan Talarn, President of the Lleida Provincial Council, accompanied by Deputy Òscar Martínez, met with the respective mayors, Jordi Estiarte (Bellpuig) and Txell Capdevila (Maldà), to personally explain the main budgetary updates that will directly affect the local governments.
The €15 million line falls under the Health sector and primarily aims at modernizing municipal water networks and supporting the replacement of asbestos, in addition to allowing investment in sports facilities. Talarn emphasized that these funds will go directly to the town halls, which will be responsible for deciding their final allocation.

"We believe it is necessary to explain to the mayors the main aid lines for the municipalities, especially these 15 million extra euros for Health that will allow action on water issues, sports facilities, and asbestos replacement."

During the meeting, the Council representatives also informed the local governments about the agreement signed on Tuesday with the Catalan Association of Municipalities (ACM), which offers urban planning advice—a complex and current issue for town councils.
