The Agramunt City Council has initiated the tender process for the partial rehabilitation of the old Civil Guard barracks, aiming to establish the new Local Police station there, with an investment of 129,535 euros.

The works will focus on the two wings of the ground floor of the building, located on the west side. This intervention, with an execution period of four months, will not alter the existing structure or facades, beyond the installation of new openings. The rest of the building will be allocated to housing and other municipal dependencies.
The new police station has been designed to be an accessible facility close to citizens, with a transparent and visible access area from the outside. The interior spaces will be warm, and two areas will be clearly differentiated: one for citizen attention and administrative tasks, and another for internal use by police personnel, which will include changing rooms, a rest area, kitchen, showers, and bathrooms.
The facility will have two separate accesses. The main one will be accessible to citizens and shared with other municipal dependencies. The other access, for internal use, will be located near the CAP (Primary Care Center) and the Fire Station, facilitating direct connection with the rear garages.
This action is part of a broader rehabilitation project for the old barracks, which began in 2022. Thanks to this process, social housing units have already been enabled on the upper floors, although they are not yet occupied. It should be noted that these works have been carried out by Architecture students.
