The Government of Andorra and the Generalitat of Catalonia met in February 2025 to formally launch the Tramvalira project, aimed at connecting Sant Julià de Lòria and la Seu d'Urgell by tram.

This technical meeting established the governance framework for the study, which is part of the Interreg POCTEFA European cooperation program. The project will analyze the technical and environmental viability of linking Andorra's future internal tram system with the Alt Urgell region.

"The project is part of a shared strategy to promote sustainable mobility and reduce emissions."
