The Catalonia Waste Agency has granted 3.66 million euros to 23 municipalities and supra-municipal entities to finance the purchase of vehicles for selective organic waste collection.

The Agència de Residus de Catalunya (ARC), attached to the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition, has published the final resolution for this aid package. The main goal is to strengthen selective collection and promote more efficient models to increase both the quantity and quality of the organic fraction collected.
One of the key beneficiaries is the Consell Comarcal de l'Urgell, which will receive exactly 321,706 euros. These funds will be used for the purchase of two new vehicles, as confirmed by its president, José Luis Marín.

This aid represents a crucial economic instrument to promote a more circular, sustainable, and efficient economic model in municipal waste management.

This subsidy line is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union’s Next Generation EU funds. Most of the 23 subsidized entities are concentrated in the Girona regions (7), followed by those in the metropolitan area of Barcelona (6).
