Civil Protection has ordered the lockdown of residents in Verdú, Tàrrega, Vilagrassa, Granyanella, and Mas Bondia due to the resurgence of the forest fire in Guimerà.

The safety measure, which also applies to the Rimbau industrial estate, affects approximately 21,000 people. The fire, which had been stabilized overnight, has become active again, forcing the Fire Department to redeploy a large operation with 48 ground crews, seven helicopters, and five air tankers.
So far, the flames have scorched a total area of 161 hectares, 102 of which belong to the Granyena protected natural area. The current working area for emergency teams covers 383 hectares, where priority is being given to protecting a farm located on the right flank of the fire.
The situation has led to the closure of the LV-2101 road. According to emergency services, the fire has the capacity to generate secondary hotspots and is affecting both forest vegetation and unharvested crop fields.
