Driver Reported for Doubling Speed on C-14 in Urgell

The Mossos d'Esquadra intercepted the vehicle after detecting it exceeding the speed limit on a section of the C-14.

A 41-year-old driver has been criminally reported by the Mossos d'Esquadra for a traffic safety offense, after being detected driving at 193 km/h on a section of the C-14 in Urgell where the maximum permitted speed is 80 km/h.

The incident occurred last Sunday, during a speed control set up by officers from the Ponent Police Region at kilometer point 68 of the C-14, within the municipality of Verdú. In this section of the road, the speed limit is 80 km/h.
Around 3:30 PM, officers recorded a vehicle traveling at a speed of 193 km/h, significantly exceeding the established limit for the road. This speed represents more than double the permitted limit on this stretch.
Following the detection, the Mossos d'Esquadra proceeded to stop the vehicle in Montblanc. The 41-year-old driver was criminally reported for a traffic safety offense, as their speed was deemed criminally punishable.
