The Escola Pia de Tàrrega, in partnership with the Banc de Sang i Teixits, is hosting a blood and plasma donation drive on February 23 and 24 at the local Casal Cívic.

Fifth-grade students are leading this initiative as part of a community service project. The campaign aims to remind the citizens of Tàrrega that blood cannot be manufactured and relies solely on altruism. Over the past six editions, the school has facilitated a total of 954 donations.

"The most valuable thing is not the numbers, but seeing how children realize that blood is not manufactured or bought."

Donations will be accepted from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Participants will also have the opportunity to register as bone marrow donors. Local businesses in the Urgell region have donated prizes for a raffle to encourage community participation in this vital health event.
