The 46th edition of Fira Tàrrega has opened its doors with a varied offering of performances, including contemporary dance, immersive theatre, and artistic installations in the capital of Urgell.

Fira Tàrrega has launched its 46th edition, presenting a selection of performances that include the contemporary dance piece ‘Dominare’ by the company la Maduixa, the itinerant show ‘Bo Familia’ by Marie de Jongh, and the permanent installation by Penique Productions at the Mercè church. The inaugural performance, ‘Incontinuo’, by the Catalan company Kamchàtka, placed the audience in an indeterminate time and space, addressing themes such as migration and memory.
Under the slogan ‘Celebrar’ (Celebrate), the festival aims to recapture the essence of the 1980s, concentrating artistic proposals in the city center with a simultaneously reivindicative and festive character. The Valencian company la Maduixa presented a contemporary dance piece exploring the limits of movement to speak about the abuse of power, while the Basque company Marie de Jongh offered ‘Bo Familia’, an itinerant show that humorously reflects on the touristification and the tourist within us all.
From Vilanova de Bellpuig, Penique Productions presented ‘Entre la Pell i la Màscara’ (Between the Skin and the Mask), an ephemeral installation that entirely occupies and transforms the unique interior of the Mercè church. The 46th edition features 57 programmed shows, 56 national and international companies, and will bring together a total of 1,200 professionals.
Furthermore, the IEI is reinforcing its support for the performing arts community with the third meeting of Lleida Escena, titled ‘Fil a l’agulla!’ (Needle and Thread!), which accommodates proposals arising from previous working days.
