The involvement of local commerce in Montornès with the town's cultural and festive life is evident once again with the creation of special gastronomic products for the Festa Major. Three establishments, Can Tomàs, Viñallonga pastry shop, and Cal Forner, have unveiled their new creations, resulting from collaboration with the Pere Anton and Els Bartomeus groups.
Viñallonga pastry shop celebrates a decade of gastronomic creativity for the Festa Major. This year, pastry chef Jaume Viñallonga has crafted a lime and basil cheesecake with a cookie base and lemon topping. The desserts, now on sale, are notable for being low in sugar and fat, and contain no artificial colorants.
The café – ice cream parlor Can Tomàs offers two ice creams made with natural fruit, without colorants or dairy: a green melon flavor for the Els Bartomeus group and a yellow banana flavor for the Pere Anton group. These ice creams will be available throughout the season, marking the establishment's fourth year participating in this initiative.
The bakery Cal Forner has presented four creations: two types of bread and two varieties of muffins. The bread dedicated to the Pere Anton group is made with corn, while the yellow muffin is crafted with turmeric. For the Els Bartomeus group, the bread has a greenish hue thanks to the use of spinach powder, and the muffins incorporate pistachios to achieve the same color. These products will be available for purchase from September 17th to 20th.
