FiraTàrrega, one of the most important performing arts markets in Spain and a benchmark in Southern Europe, expects over 1,000 professionals from more than 580 international entities. For four days, the capital of Urgell will be the venue to see shows, establish contacts, and boost the distribution of productions.
The professional space FiraTàrrega Pro Catalan Arts will feature training sessions, project presentations, networking meetings, and round tables distributed across La Llotja, the Jardí Pro, and the Club Pro.
As a novelty, IN SITU FOCUS #1 is launched, the first major event of the Platform 2025-2028 project by the IN SITU network, focused on artistic creation in public spaces. Tàrrega will become the European epicentre for emerging street arts, bringing together about fifty European professionals to discover creations and explore collaborations.
Seven proposals from emerging European artists selected and coproduced by IN SITU will be exhibited, including KMS of Resistance by Cie. Jil Z (France) and Extra Motivated People by Losinformalls (Catalonia). The Focus also includes presentations of projects in progress, a round table on art in public spaces, and a professional meeting.
The Lunch Meeting Catalan Arts reaches its 19th edition, a meeting point for Catalan creators with export potential, expecting around 150 professionals to facilitate international contacts.
The Fair will also host the second meeting of the MERIDIAN(s) Catalunya-Germany program, the +CONTACT initiative for dance companies, and institutional agreements with Euskadi, Illes Balears, Navarra, Múrcia, and Andalusia. There will also be international presence from Ireland, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
Among the new professional activities are Crea en Xarxa, which will present four selected street arts projects; the Cartography of Live Arts of Andorra; and the Living Circus Archive, a digital archive to preserve Catalan circus heritage.
The program includes numerous networking meetings such as the Balearic Professional Meeting, the Basque Performing Arts encounter, the Connexions session, the CIATRE Connecta business meeting, the 4 Nations meeting, and the Culture Café: Global Connections. Lleida Escena is also maintained.
Training sessions will cover topics such as the new Royal Decree on Artists, cultural management tools, street theatre and copyright, and fiscal incentives. The Toolbox will offer project presentations and useful resources.
The Crossed Conversations, in collaboration with Club TRESC, will offer free dialogues between artists on themes such as anthropocentrism and migration. The welcome party and DJ sets will complete the informal atmosphere.
