The Alfath Islamic community in La Fuliola held an open day yesterday at its mosque, a new place of worship that has been open for a year, to connect with local residents.

The event, held at the mosque located on Avinguda de Catalunya, allowed community leaders to explain that it is a place for worship and prayer where values are shared and Arabic classes are taught to the youth. The mosque hosts the five daily prayers.
The Mayor of La Fuliola, Jaume Ferrer, described the event as "very interesting," noting that "it has allowed us to get to know each other a little better, to facilitate relationships, as we build the town together every day."
Meanwhile, the Councillor for Social Welfare, Laia Tasies, highlighted the council's initiatives, such as Catalan language courses to promote its use as a vehicular language, and proposed organizing a cultural exchange day to strengthen community ties.
