The city of La Seu d'Urgell is preparing to host, for the second consecutive year, the Catalan Roller Hockey Championship in the U10 category, an event that will bring together over 200 young athletes.

The competition will take place between May 29 and 31, transforming the capital of Alt Urgell into the hub of grassroots roller hockey. The official presentation of the event was held this Tuesday morning at the La Seu d'Urgell City Council, where the poster was unveiled and the schedules for the semifinals and finals, set for Sunday, May 31, were detailed.

"Our presence in La Seu d’Urgell reaffirms our commitment to being present throughout the territory, always seeking a rebalancing that allows us to bring competitions like the Catalan Championships to any municipality, from Amposta to La Seu."

Benjamí Pons · President of the Catalan Skating Federation
In addition to the young players, the presence of technical teams and participants' families is expected, filling the city with a sporting atmosphere. The draw for the group pairings will be held soon at the headquarters of the Catalan Skating Federation.

"La Seu has everything ready to host this competition for another year, thus reaffirming its sporting capital status in the Pyrenees, and in this case, regarding roller hockey, one of many sports practiced in our city thanks to the facilities we have."

Joan Barrera · Mayor of La Seu d'Urgell
The mayor emphasized the council's commitment to youth and grassroots sports, exemplified by the celebration of this championship. The president of the FECAPA expressed the intention to extend the current collaboration agreement with the city, highlighting satisfaction with the welcome and the athletes' respect for the facilities.
The Catalan Skating Federation is on the verge of its centenary, which will be officially celebrated in 2030. The president thanked the organizing club, CHP Cadí, for its involvement in making the championship possible in the capital of Alt Urgell.
