The city of La Seu d'Urgell is hosting from this Friday the nineteenth edition of its Medieval Fair, which this year has merged with the literary festival Llegendària. The combination of history and legend has drawn a large number of visitors to the historic center, which has been transformed for the occasion.
The event features a hundred craft and gastronomy stalls, along with a varied program of cultural activities including shows, parades, workshops, and circus performances. Streets and squares have been renamed with period names, such as 'camp de les batalles' or 'carrer dels oficis vius', creating an immersive atmosphere.
“"It is an event, a fair, highly requested by the people. Everyone who talks about it has such good memories that we owed it to them to bring it back. First, we wanted to establish Llegendària because we had the idea of merging it."
Llegendària, the literary festival, is located in the 'pati de les llegendes' (courtyard of legends), offering sensory spaces, children's areas, booksellers, illustrators, and a small amphitheater. Gastronomy is also a highlight, with local restaurants joining the fair with various medieval à la carte menus.
The Medieval Fair – Llegendària of La Seu d’Urgell will run until Sunday night, concluding with a concert by Orquestrina Trama and the traditional final parade.
