Tornabous hosted the sixth edition of the Aplec del Reguer yesterday, a day marked by high participation and a reinforced community and environmental commitment through various activities.

The celebration began with a free popular breakfast, organized as a thank you to the 240 members of the Amics i Amigues del Parc del Reguer association, a significant number for a municipality the size of Tornabous.
The program included an educational talk on birds of prey, given by Lluís Culleré, warden of Mas de Melons. During the session, species such as the peregrine falcon and the Eurasian eagle-owl were presented, offering a didactic and participatory explanation. Concurrently, the park became the setting for multiple activities for all ages, including children's games, face painting, a popular vermouth, a picnic lunch, and a concert.
The park also showcased significant improvements. The picnic area has been renovated with the removal of poplars in poor condition and the planting of mulberry trees. Furthermore, the association plans to install a drip irrigation system to ensure the healthy growth of the new trees.
The Aplec del Reguer serves to highlight the evolution of this natural space, whose recovery began in 2010 and received a decisive boost during the pandemic, thanks to the altruistic involvement of a group of volunteers. Currently, the park features a greenway of over two kilometers, a picnic area, a children's playground, ping-pong tables, a restroom, a library, and various educational elements.
