The Official School of Languages of La Seu d'Urgell has opened its pre-registration period for the new academic year, which will run until September 7th, introducing the C1 level of Catalan as a new feature.

The center maintains its usual offer in English and French. This year, the C1 level of Catalan is added to the training that was already provided, with the C2 certificate available for three years.
According to Mercè Solanelles, the EOI's director, to access the courses, it is necessary to prove one's level through a certificate or a placement test. "If you cannot certify a level, you must pre-register to take the level test; if you can prove it, you pre-register directly for the course you wish to enroll in," she explained. Solanelles added that, for both C1 and C2 Catalan, the placement test is in-person.
The courses are offered in both in-person and blended learning formats, aiming to facilitate work-life balance, and include matrícula fee discounts. Additionally, update courses are available for those who already hold a certified language qualification.
"With languages, we either move forward or backward, and it's a shame to invest time and effort only to lose your level," commented Solanelles. She highlighted that these update courses allow for maintaining proficiency "in a relaxed way," as certified students do not need to take the final exam, although they receive guidance and formative assessment throughout the course.
The School of La Seu d'Urgell also manages the delegated public centers in Puigcerdà and Sort, offering training in English and French.
