Around 150 fifth-grade students from La Seu d'Urgell and Castellciutat commemorated Tree Day with a day of planting lime trees and various workshops at Parc del Valira, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of nature.
The celebration, which was postponed from its official date of March 20 due to an educational strike, began with the planting of lime trees. Afterwards, participants were divided into groups to engage in different educational activities focused on the natural environment.

"What we want is to make students aware that every day we must take care of nature, the trees that give us life, and make small gestures and love nature."
Sandra Meya, director of the Centre de Recursos Pedagògics de l’Alt Urgell, emphasized the importance of continuing this initiative to foster environmental awareness among young people. The day also saw the participation of the Agents Rurals, who released a bird from the Centre de Fauna de Vallcalent.
