The educational community of Tàrrega commemorated the School Day of Non-Violence and Peace (DENIP) this Friday in the Plaça Major with an artistic installation symbolizing the fragility of coexistence.

The event, organized by the Pla Educatiu d’Entorn and the Education council, brought together all the city's educational centers with the collaboration of the Escola d’Art Ondara.
The central proposal was an artistic installation where butterflies decorated by the students were hung on branches, symbolizing the necessary balance required to maintain peace and the fragility of this state.

"The butterflies and branches represent the delicacy of the balances that make peace possible, and any rupture can easily make it disappear."

During the gathering, several students read a manifesto recalling that “peace is a guaranteed right shared by all people.” The event concluded with the performance of songs like Army dreamers by Kate Bush and Seasons of love from the musical Rent, performed by students from the Escola d’Art Ondara.
DENIP has been celebrated every January 30 since 1964, coinciding with the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, a universal symbol of peaceful resistance.
