The Tàrrega City Council has organized an open session to collect citizen contributions for the Neighborhood Plan bid, an initiative by the Generalitat de Catalunya. This funding line, with a new call for proposals for the 2025-2029 period, aims to finance urban improvement projects.
The municipal project will focus on transforming the areas of the castle and the city's historic center. The planned budget amounts to 12.5 million euros, the maximum permissible request. If selected, the Generalitat will cover 70% of the funding, with the remaining 30% borne by the council.
The cooperative Celobert is supporting the City Council in drafting the project. During the meeting, attendees shared their ideas, which will be considered for inclusion in the final document. The bid submission is scheduled between July 6th and 17th, with a decision expected in the autumn.
The plan includes a total of 25 actions structured into three main axes: physical transformations, ecological transition, and socio-community action. Among the highlighted proposals are improvements to the castle's surroundings, housing rehabilitation, and the revitalization of vacant commercial spaces.
