The Tàrrega City Council has unveiled a month-long series of events for International Women's Day, specifically highlighting the legacy of women in the local textile sector.

The program kicks off on March 6th at Sala Marsà with the exhibition Producció íntima. Curated by local artist Lluïsa Gabarra Labad, the show explores how homes in the Urgell region became workspaces for seamstresses and embroiderers who lacked formal labor recognition.

"We have prepared an extensive program with the common thread of women who worked in the textile sector but remained invisible."

Key events include the Atenea Award ceremony on March 25th at the Teatre Ateneu and a historical lecture by Dr. Márcia Botelho de Oliveira. The city will also host the Gamverrada on March 7th, a parade featuring female-led traditional folklore groups from across Catalonia.
