The project, which responds to requests made by residents in various meetings, includes immediate actions and long-term maintenance tasks. The main objective is to strengthen safety, dignify public space, and preserve the historical identity of this area of the city.
One of the most notable interventions is the landscaping of Hospital Street, endowed with 33,000 euros. This action, scheduled for the autumn, will consist of removing invasive species, planting native vegetation, and paving with river pebbles.
On the other hand, 31,000 euros will be allocated to public road repairs, including the wall of the Pou del Gel, various deteriorated pavements, and the maintenance of street furniture such as benches and railings. In addition, the asphalt paving of the Castell wall street has been scheduled for the end of July.
In parallel, the council is working on a grant application to the Office of Support for Cultural Initiative (OSIC) to finance an urgent intervention on the wall of the southern slope of the Castell, with the aim of ensuring the protection of this heritage element.
