The Tàrrega City Council, along with the Mossos d'Esquadra, will intensify police presence in the nightlife area of Catalunya Avenue to eradicate incidents and persistent noise.

The city of Tàrrega will implement a special surveillance operation on Avinguda de Catalunya, primarily on Friday and Saturday nights. This measure addresses the rise in disturbances, fights, and excessive noise that have occurred on recent weekends, leading to resident complaints.
The decision follows a fight recorded last Sunday morning outside a nightlife venue. One participant sustained injuries and required medical attention at the Tàrrega CAP (local health center). Consequently, a 19-year-old youth, allegedly involved in the assault, has been arrested and is now in judicial custody.
Mayor Rosa Maria Perelló stated that the Local Police have already issued about fifteen fines during August for public order disturbances. However, the recurrence of these behaviors has necessitated enhanced controls to ensure citizen safety and compliance with civility ordinances.
Furthermore, a report has been requested from the Local Police regarding the nightclub where incidents frequently occur, to verify compliance with closing times and minimize nocturnal noise disturbances.
The new joint patrol plan between the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Local Police will commence next weekend, August 21st and 22nd, on Avinguda de Catalunya and Plaça del Pare Carles Perelló, with active presence during venue closing hours.
