The inaugural concert featured a custom production focused on recovering musical pieces from Barcelona in the early 18th century, a period marked by the War of the Spanish Succession and the presence of Archduke Charles of Austria. This era fostered the internationalization of musical activity in the Catalan capital.
The program, titled Petites joies de la Catedral de Barcelona, was the result of musicological research conducted in the city's archives. The performance was delivered by the Ensemble Barcelona Comtal, which recovered scores by composers such as Chelleri, Picanyol, and Valls, as well as works by anonymous authors.
The cultural initiative, running until August 23rd, combines international ensembles with local talent in unique heritage spaces. Organizers confirmed that the festival reaches 36 municipalities this year with an offering of over 50 concerts and the participation of 23 musical groups.
