Truck driver reported in Tàrrega for reckless driving and high alcohol level on the A-2

The Mossos d'Esquadra criminally charged a 49-year-old man last Sunday in Tàrrega (Urgell) for recklessly driving a truck and trailer under the influence of alcohol on the A-2 highway.

The police intervention began around 11 p.m., when the 112 emergency service received several alerts from drivers reporting that a truck was driving erratically, invading both lanes of traffic, near Alcoletge (Segrià) heading towards Barcelona.
Several police units were mobilized, and a traffic patrol managed to locate and intercept the offending vehicle at kilometer 507, within the municipality of Tàrrega. Officers ensured the safety of other road users before forcing the driver to stop.

The breathalyzer test returned a positive rate of 0.70 mg/l, a level significantly exceeding the legal limit for professional drivers.

The driver showed clear symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Following the test, he registered a positive rate of 0.70 mg/l, a level that surpasses the established criminal limit.
Consequently, the man was criminally charged as the alleged perpetrator of reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages. The truck was immobilized at the scene, and the accused must appear before the investigating court in Cervera.
