Vallbona de les Monges has successfully celebrated the 12th edition of Vallbonatura, an event that brought together hundreds of people to reconnect with nature and discuss coexistence with wild fauna.

The Vall del Corb region became a meeting point for nature lovers for two days with the celebration of the 12th edition of Vallbonatura in Vallbona de les Monges. The event achieved great attendance, with the Monastery square full of visitors enjoying craft stalls and family-friendly, educational activities.
The director of Vallbonatura, Minerva Sellés, gave a very positive assessment of the event, highlighting its core purpose of strengthening the bond between people and the natural environment. "Currently, we are very disconnected from nature, and activities like these allow us, at least for a weekend, to reconnect with it," she explained.
A central theme of this edition was the coexistence between wild fauna and human activity, particularly in light of the recent confirmation of the first wolf litter in the Catalan Pyrenees. A round table discussed "this important issue that needs to be brought to the table, as we must be aware of the pros and cons," according to Sellés. Participants included Gabriel Lampreave, Sara Gutiérrez, Oriol Millán Blanch, and Ricard Casanovas.
Throughout the weekend, attendees enjoyed a wide variety of activities, including interpretive routes, children's workshops, talks, book presentations, and experiences related to fauna and biodiversity. Notable events included a talk by tracker Paloma Troya, a route to discover local fauna with Fernando Gómez (SERAFO), a workshop on river biodiversity by Ana Morton (UAB), and the presentation of the book ECO SALVAJE. La Tierra habla a través de quienes están dispuestos a escucharla by young author Elvia Gómez.
The event also featured two fauna releases, a tour of bird murals by artist Swen Schmitz, and a guided tour of local heritage as part of the regional council's new tourism initiative.
