Interior of the Verdú castle prepared for a workshop on gastro-tourism.

Verdú Castle will host a conference on Tuesday, May 26, dedicated to promoting sustainable gastro-tourism through collaboration between local producers and tourism agents in the Urgell region.

The meeting, titled Com crear experiències agroalimentàries que connectin amb el turisme i el patrimoni, aims primarily to foster networking. The event is promoted by the Department of Economic Promotion of Tàrrega City Council in coordination with the Urgell County Council, as part of a strategic project to strengthen the region's economic fabric.
The program will begin with an analysis of current trends in experiential tourism. Subsequently, a roundtable will be held to present success stories that have managed to link agri-food production with cultural heritage. Initiatives sharing their experience include Mas de Colom – Casa Borges, the Museu de l'Oli de Catalunya, and the company El Brogit Guiatges.
The session will conclude with a practical workshop where participants will work on designing concrete tourism proposals. The goal is for these dynamics to lead to real alliances and commercialization projects in the short and medium term. This conference marks the end of a cycle of training sessions held across various municipalities in the region, supported by the Public Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC) and advised by the Raiels cooperative.
