Pavement improvement works on Agoders street and Anselm Clavé square in Tàrrega, commencing Tuesday, September 22, will necessitate the relocation of the weekly market stalls. These will be moved from Monday, September 28, to Plaça de les Nacions sense Estat, Espai Fassina, the old bus station, and part of Migdia street.
All stalls will be relocated, including those in Plaça del Carme and Carme and Torras i Bages streets, to keep the market unified in one area. The project involves replacing damaged paving stones on Agoders street and renewing the vehicle pavement on Plaça d’Anselm Clavé. The work will last a month, but the areas will not fully reopen until late November.
Pedestrians will still be able to access the work areas, but vehicular traffic, including loading and unloading, will be prohibited. The adjacent street, Torras i Bages, will also be affected, with traffic restrictions except for vehicles with private parking. During the Monday market hours, the initial section of Migdia street will be closed, except for access to the underground parking at Plaça de les Nacions sense Estat.
The Tàrrega City Council is informing residents, businesses, and the approximately sixty market stallholders about these disruptions. The Door-to-Door waste collection service will not be affected.
These works are part of a new phase of urban space maintenance and improvement in the capital of the Urgell region, with a budget of 99,273 euros (VAT included) until 2027. It includes improvements to Plaça del Carme and Carme, Blaia, Salvador Espriu, and Castell streets.
