The city of Tàrrega has unveiled a striking yarn tassel canopy for the Sant Jordi celebration, a collaborative initiative involving over 200 people and six local entities.

This artwork, titled Entre fils i colors (Between Threads and Colors), comprises 6,000 individual tassels, crafted from a total of 20,000 meters of yarn. Its creation required over 3,000 hours of volunteer work, with active participation from various community organizations.
Among the entities that contributed to this project are Associació Alba, Associació Alzheimer Tàrrega, Associació contra el Càncer, Dones Arrel, Casal Cívic i Comunitari, and Residència Sant Antoni, demonstrating a strong spirit of civic cooperation.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Economic Promotion area of the Tàrrega City Council, aims not only to beautify the city but also to provide shaded areas during the warmer months. The installation is located at the intersection of Carme and Santa Anna streets, in the well-known Laberint square, and will remain permanently to revitalize the commercial center.

"Besides the decoration, it will serve to offer shaded areas for the summer heat."

the mayor
