The activity, organized by the Urgell Youth Office and the Regional Council, with the support of Paupaterres, took place at the Anglesola library facilities, provided by the local City Council. This 14-hour course, part of the Joves en acció project, had 65% of its cost covered by the organizers' funding.
Audiovisual trainer Sergi Petit highlighted the importance of this initiative in training participants to identify technical needs and operate equipment for shows. During the course, students delved into aspects such as different types of microphones and speakers, the use of both analog and digital soundboards, and creative lighting.
“"The technician's job is transversal: it combines knowledge of electricity, radio frequency, and structures, in addition to assembly and safety in the use of materials."
The eighteen available spots generated significant interest, with nearly thirty registrations, which opens the door to a possible second edition. According to Petit, there is a "strong labor demand" in this field, where companies value practical experience and direct knowledge of materials, offering opportunities for weekend or summer jobs, periods of increased cultural activity.
From Paupaterres Produccions, Marc Calderó emphasized the relevance of these training programs in a region with a "vibrant culture and a great desire to experiment in the world of entertainment." He added that current events require not only artists but also extensive behind-the-scenes support work, including setup, props, sound, and lighting, considering this course an "opportunity to enter a sector with a future."
“"This course is an opportunity to enter a sector with a future."
Calderó also acknowledged the organizational effort and the involvement of the Urgell Youth Office in offering useful training adapted to both the interests of young people and the real needs of the local labor market.
