The Catalan Government's pilot program to integrate Mossos d'Esquadra officers into Secondary schools has been rejected by three of the six institutes in the province of Lleida where its implementation was planned.

The INS Lo Pla d'Urgell in Bellpuig has informed the Department of Education of its refusal to participate in this initiative. This decision follows similar rejections from the Alfons Costafreda in Tàrrega and the Ribera del Sió in Agramunt, which had also expressed their opposition to the project.
Among the centers in Urgell, the Manuel de Pedrolo institute in Tàrrega is the only one that, so far, has not explicitly spoken out against the plan. However, sources from the educational community have indicated that the issue is currently under internal debate. Conversely, the Escòla d'Ostalaria in Les is the only Lleida center that has openly stated its intention to collaborate with the initiative, a result of cooperation between the Departments of Education and Interior.
Outside the Lleida regions, the Margarida Xirgu institute in L'Hospitalet has also withdrawn from the government project. The Catalan Government argues that the presence of plainclothes and unarmed officers aims to improve coexistence in educational centers, an argument that has been questioned by unions, parent associations, and other educational entities.

"Opponents of this plan believe that assigning police officers stigmatizes schools and part of the student body, especially those in vulnerable situations."

This proposal emerges in a context of labor conflict within the education sector, with ongoing mobilizations demanding salary and working condition improvements, as well as a reduction in student-teacher ratios.
