A 44-year-old man arrested in Agramunt for assaulting a supermarket in Tàrrega last week has been released with charges following a judicial decision in Balaguer.

The duty court in Balaguer decreed last Thursday the release with charges for the man arrested on Wednesday in Agramunt. He was accused of assaulting a supermarket in Tàrrega the previous week and was restrained by staff and customers.

The Prosecutor's Office requested provisional imprisonment, communicated and without bail, but the judge opted for release subject to precautionary measures.

The imposed precautionary measures include the obligation to appear in court when required and the prohibition from leaving Spain, resulting in the withdrawal of his passport.
The accused, aged 44, has accumulated about twenty prior arrests for similar crimes and has previously spent several years in prison, according to sources close to the case.
