The 32nd Live Arts Season in Tàrrega has launched with resounding success in season ticket sales, reaching a record 400 subscribers and marking the ninth consecutive year of growth.

Tàrrega's cultural season, organized by the Department of Culture, has kicked off with the comedy ‘Plaer culpable’, written by Lara Díez Quintanilla. The Teatre Ateneu opened its doors with 400 season tickets sold, a 2.5% increase from the previous year, marking nine consecutive years of sustained growth.
The first two performances, held on Saturday, October 3rd, and Sunday, October 4th, filled the venue with the acts of Mar Ulldemolins and Francesc Ferrer. Sunday's session was notable for being the first with an inclusive approach, offering subtitling, a magnetic loop, and amplified sound for individuals with functional diversity. The season includes five more shows with these features, and improvements have been made to the theatre to facilitate access for wheelchair users.
The Councillor for Culture, Miquel Nadal, highlighted the cycle's long trajectory and the passion for culture in Tàrrega. He noted that many performances have been doubled to meet high demand, stating, "We don't want anyone to miss out on their ticket or the opportunity to enjoy top-level theatre in our town."
The season, running until April 30th, unifies the stage and music programmes under a single cycle, covering disciplines such as theatre, circus, dance, music, and opera. Currently, of the 400 season tickets, 169 are 'Total Season Tickets', 206 are for theatre, circus, and dance, and 25 include opera.
The programme features numerous notable performances, including ‘Tres tristos traumes’ by Col·lectiu Intermitent, ‘Lo cant de les ànimes mudes’ by La Tremenda, ‘Una idea genial’ with Lluís Villanueva and Frank Capdet, and circus offerings from Cia. Nueveuno. Dance is represented by ‘Stravinsky’ from LaMov, and independent theatre by ‘Com vaig aprendre a conduir’ from Sala Beckett.
Other significant acts include ‘Bons i dolents’ with Joel Joan and Agnès Busquets, ‘Itzulera’ by Dejabu Konpainia, ‘Burpees’ by Cia. Mea Culpa, and ‘Pla per Roig’ with Jordi Coromina and Laura Roig. The cycle will conclude with ‘Tempo’ by Toni Mira, winner of the Premi Teatre Barcelona.
The musical segment features renowned artists such as the Julià Carbonell Symphony Orchestra, El Petit de Cal Eril, saxophonist Irene Reig, the quartet Northern Cellos, Puccini's opera ‘Madama Butterfly’ performed by the Camerata Lírica, and the jazz quintet led by Jeb Patton and Kazue Patton.
The family programme, promoted by the Fundació la Xarxa and the Department of Culture, includes musical adaptations like ‘La bella dorment’ by Cia. Trencadís, and shows with puppets, magic, and music for babies.
