The Mossos d'Esquadra and Policia Local are investigating a robbery that took place in a central Tàrrega home last Monday evening while the residents were attending the annual Three Kings Parade.

The break-in occurred between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM at a property on Carrer Castell, located very close to the Plaça Major and the parade route. The perpetrators gained access to the residence after forcing open one of the windows.
The thieves took advantage of the residents' absence and the reduced police presence in the area due to the parade to steal jewelry, a watch, and a PlayStation console, with a total estimated value of around 6,500 euros.

This robbery pattern aligns with a trend detected by police forces, where thieves use local festivals and events as opportunities to target empty homes.

This type of crime, exploiting the fact that houses are empty while owners attend festive events, was also recorded last year in several municipalities in the Lleida province, including Camarasa, Bell-lloc, Alfarràs, Castellserà, Pradell, and L'Espluga Calba.
