The Tàrrega City Council Plenary approved a motion by the CUP on Thursday demanding urgent maintenance and increased security from the Government and Adif for the Rodalies network due to structural deficiencies.

The motion, which received votes in favor from the CUP, ERC, and Junts, and the abstention of the PSC, denounces the “chronic underfunding” suffered by the railway network by the State. The text demands that Adif intensify preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, emphasizing slopes, trenches, drainage, and trackside vegetation.

Beyond storms, incidents reveal structural deficits in Adif's maintenance and a lack of protocols to avoid transferring the social cost to the most vulnerable groups.

Likewise, the text urges the Government of the Generalitat and Adif to promote the Rodalies Plan 2026-2030, which has been pending since the summer of 2025. It also calls for the development of risk action protocols, ensuring transparency in incident management, and promoting a change of model or transfer in transport and infrastructure.
In the financial sphere, the plenary unanimously approved a budget modification with extraordinary credit for urgent works on properties at numbers 34 and 36 of Urgell street, which are in imminent danger of collapse. This action will be financed with €41,100 from the participatory budgets item and €80,000 from the water cycle digitalization project, utilizing Next Generation funds.
