Tàrrega closes 2025 with a crime resolution rate of 57.8%, one of the highest in Lleida

The City Council will reinforce security with two new Local Police officers and the expansion of video surveillance cameras.

The Tàrrega Local Security Board presented the 2025 balance, highlighting that 57.8% of crimes committed in the capital of Urgell are resolved, one of the highest figures in the province of Lleida.

The security balance for Tàrrega at the close of 2025 shows a positive trend, with a reduction in property crimes of almost 7%. The crime resolution index, at 57.8%, exceeds the Catalan average (40%) and represents an increase of 3.1 points compared to the previous year.

Mayor Alba Pijuan emphasized that the increase in human resources has allowed the percentage of arrests to rise to 68%. Furthermore, the crime rate per thousand inhabitants stands at 41.7 (much lower than the Catalan average of 62.38), and the Local Police frustrated 44 attempted occupations during the year.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Tàrrega City Council plans to reinforce security with the incorporation of two new officers into the Local Police, reaching 21 personnel. The 26 existing video surveillance cameras will also be expanded, with the imminent installation of two more in the sports area, and work is underway on a new civism ordinance.
