The construction of the facility, which formally began this Thursday, is located in the municipality's new expansion area, adjacent to the border with Sabadell and very close to the UAB's Bellaterra campus. Mayor Josep Martínez Valencia highlighted the strategic importance of this investment for the future of the town, which aims to stop being a “dormitory city”.
“"The arrival of hundreds of young students will create a continuous flow of consumption in our commerce and generate local employment, which is why we are already working with the Local Employment Service so that people from Badia are the best candidates."
The privately owned residence will offer a total of 319 individual rooms. Additionally, users will have access to common areas such as a gym, swimming pool, and cinema room. The building will also include a commercial space on the ground floor and parking for 110 vehicles.
This development is part of the boom in university residences in the Vallès Occidental area, driven by proximity to the UAB. Similar facilities have recently been inaugurated or planned in Sabadell (such as the Llac Center) and in Cerdanyola del Vallès (at Parc de l'Alba, scheduled for the 2027-2028 academic year).
