According to the latest Metal Observatory Report 2025 published by the Federació Empresarial del Metall (FEM), Vallès Occidental reaffirms its dominant position, as its Gross Value Added (GVA) in metal exceeds 28% of the Catalan total and more than 80% of the aggregate of the Barcelona regions.

"Metal is one of the great foundations of the Vallès industry and a key player in the Catalan economy."

Alícia Bosch · President of the Federació Empresarial del Metall
This strength is reflected in specific figures: the Vallès metal sector contributes 4,687.7 million euros in GVA, a figure that places it ahead of Baix Llobregat, which registers 4,223.6 million euros. Furthermore, the metal sector accounts for 40.6% of the total GVA of Vallès Occidental.
The FEM study also highlights Vallès's leadership in job creation. Despite a 4.20% drop in metal sector hiring across Catalonia, Vallès Occidental and Vallès Oriental increased their contracts by 14.48% and 29.03%, respectively. Currently, Vallès companies employ nearly 30% of the sector's workforce in Catalonia.
