The Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC) registered a 2.7 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale at 05:39 AM this Friday, January 9, locating the epicenter in Sant Quirze del Vallès.

A 2.7 magnitude earthquake was registered in the Vallès Occidental region during the early hours of Friday, January 9, 2026, according to data provided by the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC).
The exact time of the seismic movement was 05:39 AM. The ICGC confirmed that the epicenter was located in the municipality of Sant Quirze del Vallès.
