Accidental toxic chemical mix forces evacuation of Rubí municipal pool

Twenty-five minors and one adult received medical attention following a chemical reaction at the sports facility.

Emergency services treated 25 minors and one adult this Wednesday at the Rubí municipal swimming pool following an accidental toxic chemical reaction caused by a product mixture.

The incident led to the evacuation of approximately 80 people from the facility. According to the Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters), the chemical reaction was contained within the building and did not affect the surrounding outdoor areas.
Medical reports indicate that 20 minors suffered moderate injuries, while 5 others were slightly affected. An adult male also required treatment. Several users experienced dizziness and vomiting due to the exposure.
The Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) dispatched ten ambulances to the scene. Meanwhile, Protecció Civil activated the Procicat emergency plan in its pre-alert phase, with the Rubí Local Police assisting in the operation.
