The Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (Adif) has commenced maintenance work on the R3 railway line's embankment in the La Florida neighborhood of Santa Perpètua de Mogoda. The City Council has conveyed municipal and resident concerns regarding the infrastructure's condition.

The works, which began the week of August 17th, address municipal demands for safety. Mayor Joan Carles Mingueza has held several meetings with Adif's management to advance solutions for the impacts on the infrastructure and adjacent homes, which are experiencing ground movement, vibrations, and cracks.
The municipal operation has thoroughly inspected the affected areas and proposed technical options. The mayor emphasized the importance of ensuring resident safety and has collaborated with affected residents to find a comprehensive solution.
As a result of these collaborations, the City Council plenary approved the bypass project in May. This proposal suggests an alternative route outside the La Florida neighborhood, connecting the R3 and R8 lines and creating a new railway scheme with an interchange at the Santa Perpètua de Mogoda - Riera de Caldes station.
According to the Council, this alternative would reduce urban impacts, eliminate architectural barriers, increase railway capacity, and significantly improve mobility within the municipality. The City Council and Adif maintain regular contact to monitor planned interventions in the area.
