Terrassa is preparing for a period of intense rainfall this Tuesday, with the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya activating a danger warning and the local council implementing its municipal emergency plan.

The Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya (Meteocat) has issued a meteorological danger warning due to the intensity of rain expected for this Tuesday afternoon, May 12. This alert will affect a significant part of the Catalan territory, including Vallès Occidental, where Terrassa is located.
The alert will be active between 2 PM and 8 PM, with forecasts indicating the possibility of exceeding 20 liters per square meter in just 30 minutes. In response to this situation, Protecció Civil has activated the alert phase of the INUNCAT plan for potential floods.
The regions with the highest probability of exceeding this precipitation threshold include Anoia, Bages, Baix Llobregat, Moianès, Vallès Oriental, and Vallès Occidental. In Terrassa, the warning is orange level, indicating a maximum danger level of 3 out of 6. Meteocat warns that the downpours could be accompanied by thunderstorms, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
Local authorities have activated the municipal emergency plan for flood risk. Protecció Civil urges caution in mobility and outdoor activities, especially in areas prone to rapid water accumulation or sudden rises in streams and torrents.

"Citizens are advised to avoid parking in stream beds or flood-prone areas, never cross rivers, streams, or flooded zones, either on foot or by vehicle, reduce mobility during heavy rainfall, and stay away from riverbeds, ravines, and floodable underpasses."
