Terrassa athlete Àlex Pintado claimed the gold medal in the 1,500m event at the Spanish U23 Championships in Sabadell this February, completing a remarkable comeback.

After nearly a year sidelined due to a severe tendon injury suffered in Font Romeu in April 2025, Pintado secured victory with a time of 3:43:94. The local runner executed a powerful final sprint to overtake his rivals in the closing meters.
The championships also saw success for Ericka Maseras from Vacarisses, who took silver in the 60m sprint. Overall, Catalan athletes secured 15 medals during the event held in the Vallès Occidental region.

"Happy with the medal, but especially because little by little I am coming back."
