A group of individuals robbed a MediaMarkt store in the Parc Vallès shopping center in Terrassa around half-past four in the morning on Thursday, August 13th. The thieves gained access to the store by breaking down the door with a hydraulic jack, a tool valued at approximately 8,000 euros, which they later abandoned at the scene.
Once inside, the alarm was triggered. Despite the presence of a security guard, the thieves acted quickly to steal various products. The guard alerted the Municipal Police, who upon arrival observed the thieves exiting the establishment and getting into two high-end vehicles: a Mercedes GLS and an Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Reports indicate the Mercedes GLS used was allegedly stolen the same night from a parking lot in Sant Boi de Llobregat.
The vehicles fled at high speed along the C-58 towards Barcelona. Police officers located them but could not stop them due to the excessive speed. During the pursuit, the thieves reportedly threw fire extinguishers to evade the officers. There are no reports of injuries.
The investigation into the incident, which will include analysis of surveillance camera footage from the shopping center and the store, as well as a compilation of damages and material losses, will be handled by the Mossos d'Esquadra. They have also initiated a search for the perpetrators of the assault.
