A robbery took place early Thursday morning, August 13th, at a MediaMarkt store located in the Parc Vallès shopping center. According to information confirmed by official sources, the incident occurred around half past five in the morning, carried out by a group of individuals who allegedly caused significant damage to the premises.
The assailants gained access to the store's interior using a hydraulic jack to force the door. Despite the alarm system being triggered and a security guard being present, the thieves acted quickly to take various products before fleeing in two high-end vehicles.
The security guard alerted the Terrassa Municipal Police. Upon their arrival, the suspects were already fleeing. The police initiated a pursuit that extended to the C-58 highway, heading towards Barcelona. However, the thieves were driving at high speed and managed to escape.
During the chase, the thieves threw fire extinguishers at the police vehicles in an attempt to shake off the officers. There are no reports of injuries.
The Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan Police) have taken over the investigation. They are analyzing surveillance camera footage from the store and the shopping center, as well as gathering information on the damages and material losses to identify and locate the perpetrators of the assault.
