The Campoamor Market Platform in Sabadell has presented a revised plan for the new facility, incorporating more local shops and community spaces despite significant delays in the demolition process.

The new market design has been adjusted following pressure from local residents. The updated plan features seven commercial stalls alongside a Consum supermarket, an ATM, and a central corridor designed to foster social interaction. This layout replaces the initial proposal, which only included street-facing shops.
Construction was originally expected to be well underway by now, as the old market closed in late 2024. However, bureaucratic hurdles have delayed the start of works. The supermarket chain Consum will invest in the demolition and construction of the site, managing the main grocery area for the next 40 years.

"It is a great milestone: that the market is designed based on the neighbors' proposal."
