The Castellbisbal Town Council and the Barcelona Provincial Council inaugurated the restoration of the Pont del Diable Roman arch this Sunday, February 23rd, after eleven months of work.

The project required an investment of 412,369.51 euros. The main challenge was to secure the stones within the Roman filling and prevent further erosion caused by weather conditions. This intervention ensures the preservation of the monument's architectural and symbolic value for future generations.

"The Pont del Diable is a symbol for Castellbisbal, a piece that is part of our collective identity."

The works also included cleaning the surrounding area and restoring original Roman stone slabs at the entrance. Lluïsa Moret, president of the Barcelona Provincial Council, emphasized that the bridge serves as a vital link between the Vallès Occidental and Baix Llobregat regions.
