Provisional figures indicate 259 children in early childhood education, 653 in primary, and 593 young people in compulsory secondary education. For post-compulsory education, 131 students will pursue baccalaureate studies, and 95 will enroll in one of the two intermediate vocational training cycles in Computer Systems and Networks or Commercial Activities. Additionally, 10 young people will participate in the Training and Insertion Program (PFI) for commerce and customer service assistants.
The municipal nursery schools will accommodate 126 children under three years old. One of the main novelties is the expansion project for the Municipal Nursery School La Caseta, driven by the Department of Education and Childhood, aiming to increase public offerings for ages 0-3. In the interim, an agreement has been made with a private nursery to guarantee a place for all requesting families. Currently, 92 of the 126 enrolled children will attend La Caseta.
The joint event for the educational communities of Castellbisbal and Rubí, held at the Rubí Casino, was attended by Castellbisbal's Councilor for Education and Childhood, Clàudia Cano, and the Director of the Territorial Services of Education in Vallès Occidental, Montserrat Capdevila i Tatché. The event featured a conference titled 'The Engine of Change: Pedagogical and Distributed Leadership in the Teaching Team', delivered by Maria Batet Rovirosa.
Clàudia Cano highlighted the current challenges facing the educational system and advocated for strengthened collaboration between administrations, educational centers, and the educational community to advance towards quality public education. It is important to note that, like the rest of the country, teachers in Castellbisbal are called to a strike on September 8th, which may affect the normal start of the school year.
For this academic year, an investment of 367,000 euros from the Generalitat de Catalunya is planned for improvements in buildings, safety, accessibility, and facility renovations. Furthermore, efforts are underway to enhance thermal comfort in schools and to implement photovoltaic panels in educational facilities, 'with the objective of adapting them to current climate and energy challenges,' the councilor stated.
