Catalonia's Real Estate Market Closes 2025 with Record-Breaking December

Home sales rose by 13.9% over the year, while Sant Cugat remains the most expensive rental area in Vallès.

The real estate sector in Catalonia concluded 2025 with 112,585 sales transactions, marking a 13.9% increase compared to the previous year, according to the National Statistics Institute (INE).

December was a standout month with 8,181 operations, the best performance for a December since 2007. While Barcelona saw steady growth, Girona and Tarragona experienced the sharpest increases, both exceeding 20%.
Regarding the rental market, the average price in Catalonia reached 876.83 euros. In the Vallès Occidental region, Sant Cugat recorded the highest average rent at 1,483.06 euros per month.
