The president of the business association Cecot, Xavier Panés, met this week with the leaders of ERC and Junts to request coherence and a long-term vision in the negotiation of the new regional financing system.

The president of the Terrassa business association, Xavier Panés, held closed-door meetings with the president of ERC, Oriol Junqueras, on Tuesday, and with the Secretary General of Junts, Jordi Turull, on Thursday, following the schedule announced during the 2026 perspectives presentation. In both cases, Cecot conveyed the need to address the financing debate by overcoming immediate interests.

"Long-term view and leaving political tactics."

Cecot emphasized several key elements that must guarantee the success of the new financing model proposed by the central government led by Pedro Sánchez. Among the association's concerns are the uniqueness and operational functioning of the proposed models, guarantees in resource collection and transfer, and execution deadlines.
Also attending the meeting with ERC were Oriol López and Laura Pelay, while Toni Castellà and Meritxell Lluís were present at the meeting with Junts. The Terrassa association reiterated that its role is to listen to political proposals and convey business concerns, without endorsing specific models.
