The facilities of the Club Natació Terrassa were the venue this past weekend for the Spanish Junior Women's Water Polo Championship. Between July 9th and 12th, twelve teams from across the country gathered in Terrassa for one of the most significant competitions on the national youth calendar.
The local team, CN Terrassa, delivered a strong performance, securing the silver medal after losing the final against CN Catalunya. During the group stage, the home team achieved two victories: against Askartza (23-7) and Real Canoe NC (11-7), thus qualifying for the quarter-finals.
In the quarter-finals, CN Terrassa defeated CW Dos Hermanas by 4-16. In the semi-finals, they faced CN Sabadell in a local derby that concluded with a narrow 4-5 victory for the Terrassa team.
The final saw CN Terrassa compete against CN Catalunya. Despite a close contest in the initial quarters (2-1 and 2-2), the Barcelona-based team sealed their victory with a 4-0 run in the final quarter, winning 9-3 and being crowned Spanish champions.
UE Horta secured third place in the championship, while CN Sabadell finished fourth. Madrid's CDN Boadilla came in fifth, followed by CW Dos Hermanas (sixth). Real Canoe NC took seventh place, and Conectabalear Mallorca finished eighth. Leioa WP secured ninth place after winning the derby against Askartza (7-8). CD WP Iruña 9802 finished eleventh, and CW Túria came in twelfth.
